Presented at the 1955 Paris Motor Show, this prototype was nicknamed "hippopotamus" because of the fully opening front hood that resembled the yawn of the large mammal.
It is equipped with hydropneumatic suspensions that allow the height of the car from the ground to be maintained constant, but also with twin headlights, of which the internal one (high beam) is also self-directional, that is, it rotates together with the steering, so as to follow the curves and have optimal lighting during the night.
These headlights were nicknamed "cat's eyes" for their unmistakable design.
