Inspired by the film 'Funny Girl' directed by William Wyler, Barbra Streisand and Omar Sharif are captured in a fleeting moment where she reveals her emotions through a tender and engaging expression. The actress portrays the role of Fanny Brice, a poor girl from New York, not conventionally beautiful but endowed with great talent and a sense of humor. Discovered by impresario Florenz Ziegfeld in the 1930s, she becomes a star in America's most famous variety company. The literary references surrounding the paintings are merely interpretive suggestions and are left to the viewer's freedom of interpretation.
