City of Glass

The title recalls Paul Auster's postmodern novel, an unusual detective story in which the reader gets lost amidst the entwined characters who lose their own identities. Similarly, in my painting, the play of reflections on the wet road confuses the observer, making it difficult to distinguish what is real from what is mirrored in the asphalt. In the book and the painting, the metropolis takes center stage, a kaleidoscope of glass that deprives the observer of clear orientation.
