Destiny Shuffles the Cards, and We Play

This painting was inspired by the atmosphere of 1940s film noir: a foggy evening descends upon the metropolis; dark silhouettes of travelers proceed absorbed in their own paths. How many people traverse the same places without ever meeting? But the vast city can unite the destinies of two strangers: a chance encounter can change the course of their story. On the side, I wanted to pay tribute to one of the most representative faces of noir, the famous Lauren Bacall, who met her future husband Humphrey Bogart on the set of her first film, 'To Have and Have Not.
